Paul Ricard means an end of the winning streak

AT Racing secured more critical points in the chase for the European Le Mans Series title at Paul Ricard with a solid fourth place finish.

After scoring three podiums in the previous three rounds, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Alexander Talkanitsa jr. & sr. were once again at the wheel of the #56 Ferarri 458 GTE.

On the 5.8-kilometre circuit, the black Ferrari 458 GTE rapidly made its presence known in the overall top 5, completing the free practice sessions in 1st (FP1) and 7th (FP2) positions. Alessandro secured the team’s first P2 in qualifying.

Alexander jr. started the race and maintained a consistent pace in the overall top 3 during his stint. He was 1st when he pitted to hand over to Alexander sr., after 58 minutes of racing.  After two unlucky Full Course Yellows during the two middle stints, Alexander jr. was 4th when he pitted for the next driver’s change. Alessandro took the wheel for the last 55 minutes of racing and rapidly became one of the quickest drivers on the Le Castellet circuit, setting the fastest lap in race for the #56 Ferrari 458 GTE. Despite Alessandro’s best efforts at closing the gap to the Aston Martin in P3, he eventually brought the car home in 4th position.

Nonetheless, the result still meant a healthy haul of 12 points for the AT Racing squad, which will be valuable in the ongoing championship fight.

The team now looks towards the fifth round of the European Le Mans Series that takes place at Spa on 25th September.
