Early exit disappointment for AT Racing at Spa

It was a case of an early shower under the perfectly blue skies in Round 5 of the European Le Mans Series at Spa Francorchamps this afternoon (25 September, 2016) as AT Racing were forced to retire the #56 Ferrari 458 GTE during the first hour of the scheduled four-hour race.

Having qualified on pole position, Alexander Talkanitsa lined up on the first row of the GTE grid and held the second position for the first hour of racing when the troubles hit. The young Belarussian lost the car on the breaks in Stavelot and hit the tire barrier. Despite the best efforts of the mechanics, the damage was too big to get the car out in the remaining time.

The final round of the European Le Mans Series gets underway at Estoril, 21-23 October.
